I made these a couple of times last year for cookouts. They are moist and flavorful and the kids loved them. I grated my garlic and mixed the burgers by hand and I used fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil on top. I will be making them again this summer.

James,
I don't know you but you must have some issues. This is a show that provides flare to the normal mundane recipes that we are acustomed to. Not every recipe on any show will be a great hit but they are recipes that pushes the norms to the traditional burgers, italian dishes, and steaks, and forces us to look outside the box..
Stop being such a Debbie Downer and if you were so good in the culinary arts, you'd have your own tv show. Until you can create ambrosial dishes, I suggest you keep your insults to yourself.
P.S.- This meal was great.

These mini pub burgers are excellent! I use them as my staple burger recipe. Everyone raves about them for weeks after I make them. They are extremely juicy and the flavor combination is to die for. I think the key to having juicy burgers is to not over-process the meat in the food processor. Also I used Fontina cheese instead of Tallegio which I couldn't find in my local supermarket, it didn't matter the Fontina tasted just as delicious and melts wonderfully. Also the fresh basil just adds even more flavor. I tend to have to cook my burgers longer then the recipe says, I am just always afraid of them being raw in the middle, however they always come out cooked perfectly at about 8 minutes per side. Make these and you will not be sorry!

My first-time results were excellent. Juicy, flavorful but not overly "Italian". Really the best burger I'd ever made at mone.
Second time, I added extra garlic and tomato paste, then I overprocessed the meat.
Now that does indeed taste like a meatball.
So I would say try it, just follow the recipe exactly and DON'T overprocess the meat.
I will definitely do this again, may even mix by hand.
Oh, I also let them sit a while to absorb the seasonings - overnight was best.

First, Giada I love your show and your recipes are fantastic. Easy and delicious. The pub burgers are a big hit with family and friends.
Second, James you sound like a little BRAT. GROW THE ---- UP! Sounds like a little jealous attitude flare up. Maybe YOU just can't cook even store bought items let alone real recipes.

Great recipe!
I had to make some substitutions due to my food budget. Used ketchup instead of tomato paste, then dried parsley and cilantro instead of fresh.
Very tasty burger.
I put it on a bed on quinoa for my lunch at work, and it added so much flavor to the quinoa, which is normally very plain.

James, this forum is to rate recipes, not to insult, especially if you have not made them yourself. Grow up.

These burgers were soooo flavorful. I also used Fontina and it was fantastic - great change from regular burgers.
