Mojito

Ingredients
  • 5 fresh mint leaves plus a few extra for garnish
  • 1 1/4 -ounces simple syrup, equal amounts of sugar and water, heated until the sugar dissolves
  • 1/2 lime cut into quarters
  • 1 1/2 ounces Bacardi rum
  • Club soda, or seltzer
  • Sugar cane stalks for garnish
Directions
  • In the bottom of a highball glass, muddle together 5 fresh mint leaves, 1 1/4-ounces of simple syrup, 1/2 lime, quartered. Add the Bacardi rum. Top with club soda or seltzer to fill. Garnish with mint leaves and a branch of sugar cane.
