You can create up to five timers

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle red wine, burgundy
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 whole nutmeg
  • 4 (2-3-inch) strips orange peel
  • 4 (2-3-inch) strips lemon peel
  • 3 tablespoons sugar

Directions

In a saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a slow boil, and then simmer 10-15 minutes. Serve warm in mugs.

    I liked this wine. I thought the smell was wonderful. But next time I will only simmer 1/4 the bottle of wine. Then I'll add the rest of the wine at the very end. I evaporated all the alcohol off and that made it a little flat.

    This was undrinkable. I made it for a party, and only the people who like to drink straight liquor thought it was ok. I read elsewhere that you aren't supposed to boil mulled wine - that may have been the problem! Too much citrus, too much cinnamon. Ick.
