Easy and delicious. Whole Foods had pork brats for $1 and I could not resist trying to make them for the first time. We are not onion relish fans, so I carmelized the onions instead. Will definitely try this recipe with other flavors of brats from Whole Foods.

I've have used beer and onions before but this recipe has all the right seasonings. I used German Pork Brats from Sprouts Natural Market and have never tried them before so the brats seasoning made also help. i will test one tonight without the beer. This recipe was an all out rave at the 4th of July gathering and my wife has asked for them again asap so we are cooking them tonight. I would highly recommend this recipe.

After reading the other reviewers, I expected an excellent meal and was very disappointed. My son, who loves onion relish, would not even eat this mixture. (My husband threw them back in the fry pan and carmalized them at which point they were edible The bratwurst themselves were not bad, but not all that good either. I've had great luck with most foodnetwork recipies so I was surprised this got 5 stars from so many reviewers. It was, at best, exceedingly O.K.

This recipe is out of this world. I was in search for a bratwurst recipe for my husband (loves bratwurst, especially when he use to visit Wisconsin. I did not know how to duplicate the Wisconsin Brats. I found this recipe and he likes it even better. The relish is a huge HIT! I am now making a "BIG Batch" for a family gathering, today, as I type(thats how easy. Increasing the amounts does not have any effect, that I can see, on the recipe. I couldn't believe there were no ratings for this recipe and had to rate it. A keeper here with this family in New England.
