Simple, lovely, cooks up nicely and worked very well. The topping is cake-like, moist and lovely - I cut in the butter with a pastry cutter before mixing the milk in with a wooden spoon for a good hand beating. But be warned - this does NOT make 9x13. I put this in a large-ish ceramic quiche pan, probably about a 9" with a high lip, which was the perfect size. Double the measurements for a full casserole! Also a tip for shopping - for 4 cups sliced nectarines buy about 2 lbs.

Very good simple recipe, comes together nicely. Topping is very dense so if you like a really moist cobbler adjust to your taste ;- The flavor is perfect!

We have a Penament nectarine tree and I was wondering what to do with all the fresh nectarines. This recipe is excellent and very easy to make.

Awesome recipe!!! I use organic nectarines.
I also let the cake batter for the top rise for about 20 minutes
and spoon it on. I like to put a little cinnamon and sugar on top
before baking. I've been using this several times a week for
the family for the past 3 weeks. Even the dogs like a little taste!!!
Very easy to make, my husband can even follow along. He
gets bumbled over tedious recipes-and he enjoys that he can
make this with fresh fruit. I used the recipe to whip up a quick
cobbler the other day with fruit I had, which was a can of tart
cherries and a can of whole cranberry sauce. It turned out
amazing....This is the recipe like I grew up with in North Carolina.
I use Vegan ingredients and it still turns out awesome!!!!

I included peaches and blueberries with my nectarines because they were all almost overripe. I had to double my topping recipe because it wasn't enough to cover my filling in the 13x9 pan. It turned out great! I really enjoy the cake consistency of the topping. I'm sure I will make this again.

My nectarines were a little ripe (hence the time to make a cobbler so I added them after thickening the syrup and cooked gently for a minute so they wouldn't cook too much. It only took a minute or two this way. Also added a dash of cinnamon. I sprinkled some blackberries on top of the filling before topping with the batter and this was a very nice dessert for my July 4 barbeque, everyone enjoyed it, and the topping was tender and fluffy. I would use this recipe in the future for any cobbler, it is easy and good.
