I agree with KW Michele...this is the worst apple crisp recipe ever I have ever had! I don't recall ever having leftovers that got thrown away until I made this recipe! Yuck!!!

This was just ok. I made it exactly the way the recipe recommended with no customizations. The topping looking powdery and undercooked. I prefer recipes with Oats and more butter, I think they make for a tastier topping.

This is a wonderful receipe! To the person who did not like it, if you should have known better than to try something from the Neely's, then you should not have tried it! Stick with who you want to stick with but I love the Neely's because they are real cooks! Thanks Neelys!

This is a quick and tasty recipe. I think the one star comment that
KW-Michele made was RUDE. If you don't like the recipe, "Don't comment. Keep it to yourself." Don't ruin someone's star ratings!
    Thx LS

Made this recipe tonight and it was excellent! Will certainly make it again. I noticed that in the video online she cut the butter into cubes then let it come to room temperature. That created a more crubmbly topping than mixing the butter in cold as the recipe seemed to indicate. I mixed the cold butter cubes in similar to how you would mix a pie crust and it worked OK but I'll do it the other way next time. I used 8 oz. ramekins and it made 6. Thanks Neelys, we all enjoyed it!

I was looking for a recipe that did not contain oats. Since this was highly rated I decided to give it a try. Looking back, I should have known better since I have yet to try a recipe from The Neelys that I love. Although this is typically one of my favorite desserts, it certainly was not the case with this recipe. For starters, it is too many nuts for an ingredient that isn't usually in this dessert. The baking time seems very off. I will stick with Paula Deen and Ina Garten when I want a traditional, old fashion recipe.

This recipe is easy and delicious. Just one suggestion. If you are a beginner baker like me, make sure you have a NEW box of brown sugar. If the sugar is old it will clump and burn. I learned the hard way.

It was delicious......made it in a pie plate instead and doubled the topping. Would definitely make again..........very easy to make. Served with vanilla ice cream.
