If you do this recipe exactly like the instructions tell you to, you'll get the best biscuits ever! Simply the best I've ever eaten.

I just made these biscuits and we loved them! I kicked the temp. down to 400 and cooked for about 12 minutes... they came out great.

I love the Neely's! So imagine my shock when these came out just terrible. I'm not a great cook. However, I promised my husband I'd start making real food instead of buying everything in a can. I pre-heated my oven to 475 as the recipe states. I'm sure an experienced baker would have known that was too hot, but I'm not. So I followed the recipe. I'm glad I started reading the reviews as the biscuits were cooking, because I checked after 12 minutes and they were already dark brown and hard.
I'm making a second batch right now, I lowered the temperature to 375 so we will see how these come out.
I will also take the suggestion about using self rising floor. These are flat and just don't look pretty.
My kitchen smells awesome though, I must admit.

10 minutes into the 20 minute cook time, the biscuits were ready...a full 20 minutes and they would have been bricks. I made sure my baking powder and soda were fresh and i still did not get a good rise causing them to not be as fluffy as you probably had before. Suggest using a self-rising flour recipe next time.

I was really disappointed with this recipe. The biscuits didn't come out fluffy or tasty. the butter spread was a little too sweet for my taste. My husband and I both think that FoodNetwork should start reviewing their recipes before putting them on the websiite.

I think the temperature is a misprint/miscommunication. The temperature should be set at 375 for 20 minutes. This should make golden brown biscuits.

While not the absolute best buttermilk biscuits I've ever made (those would be Tyler Florence's, these were very easy and came out great. The temperature is correct, but I only left mine in for 12 minutes instead of the recommended 20. They're done when they're golden-brown on top, regardless of cook time or temperature. I would highly recommend these to anyone who likes to bake or eat!

I did not like this recipe. When I first read it the temperature was an eye opener for me. I would never bake anything on that temperature, especially some type of bread. So I lowered it to about 445 degrees, it was still to high for these biscuits. They were hard and it looked nothing like those fluffy biscuits in the picture. For all those who said it was the best biscuits they ever had, I say congratulations. I love the Neelys and their show, but I will not be trying this recipe again.

I followed the recipes exactly and they came out burnt and dry.

These were the best biscuits I have ever made. I read all of the previous reviews and understood that I would need to change the temperature of the oven. I baked the biscuits at 410 degrees for 10 minutes and then kicked it up to 445 degrees for about 4 or 5 minutes. Other than that, i followed the recipe exactly. Very easy and VERY delicious! GREAT RECIPE!!! Thanks!
