I tried making these cookies, they were really hard. and my baby cousin had a hard time trying to help. He ended up giving up and walking away. He even said Yuck when he bit into it. I didnt believe him at first. So I tried it. It was a Yuck. No flavor, tasted plain. God it was horrid. I dont recommend it AT ALL. Food Network could do better. These "cookies" would do better on a christmas tree than on a plate, or in your tummy

I have been making these cookies since last year and my family and friends love them. They are easy to make if you know what your are doing. I may change the colors or shapes from time to time, or even dip them in chocolate either way they are delicious

First, the receipe was not appealing, too dry. The receipe was lacking. From what was mixed to the actual product before food coloring did not match. I suggest you use your own sugar or butter dough receipe. The design can work. I used a more moist dough with flour to prevent sticking and cracking.
Remember an actual 30 min show actually can take 2-4 hours to produce.

Like everyone else, I had a terrible experience with these cookies. But I noticed the Neelys did a lot of things differently in the video as opposed to their recipe. They used different amounts of flour, and in the recipe they specified to roll out the dough and cut it into strips. After realizing the strips were useless, I ended up doing what the Neelys did in the video in the end, but I wish I had seen the video (or read the reviews! because it could have saved me a lot of time and effort in the end. The cookies don't really taste like anything anyway.

I was making these for Christmas eve and they ended up falling apart. They tasted more like butter cookies. I was frustrated overall with the recipe. I would not recommend.

I was very upset as I wasted so much time in the kitchen trying to get these cookies done. My idea was to make 'goodie bags' for the holidays and so I incorporate homeade breads with homeade cookies. I made the grand mistake of not reading the reviews on this cookie. Wasted time, money and effort. DIfficult to shape, have to use alot of food coloring and it simply wasn't worth the time. I had so much else to bake! I ended up throwing this batter away... I was so upset.

A horrible recipe, couldn't shape the cookies. Plus, i couldn't find any other cookie idea 4 this year. Where's the christmas spirit?!
