Tried making these cookies and the dough was very sticky and fell apart when trying to put the candy canes together. I even had the dough in the refrigerator before I rolled it. I ended up making cut out cookies with the dough instead.

Add me to the growing legions of grumbling bakers. Every year for about the last 6 or so years I have looked forward to the 12 days of Christmas Cookie Countdown. To say that you've stepped it "down" a notch is an understatement. I love to cook, love to bake and consider the FN stars my own friends. Don't really know what's going on with the entire network, but it's not the same as it was. Even the website isn't as user friendly as it used to be. I don't have any trouble getting around in other sites, but anymore it seems I have to wait forever for it to load and find a recipe. Please take these comments to heart and fix the problem before you lose more viewers. I personally know several that don't watch anymore because of the very reasons stated above. And yes....the Neely's were struggling to roll dough into a snake.

I really look forward to the 12 days of cookies only saved a couple of the recipes this year. These cookies don't present well, which is a major reason we make Christmas cookies.

....and I just don't like the new FN setup.

I have watched this video and find it very realistic. It takes a little longer of course, but the dough turns out just like in the video and the cookies looked onece baked also come out the same. It's not difficult, it's time consuming" I bake these cookies every year with my children.

I saw the video for this and just be aware that the Neely's cookies did not look like the picture shown. They were really flattened out. If you watch like I did you would notice that the Neelys looked like they were struggling to get it right. I just feel like Food Network is really "wingin' it" this year. Everything seems so unthoughtful and insincere from them like they rushed everything. The videos lack the tips necessary for the everyday "home baker." I bake a lot and can fix alot of problems with these doughs that may come up or, how to handle them in general but, I know my friends would not be able to. They would end up with retarded cookies. That's not special and it's just not right.
