I also added a little more spice but loved the recipe! And I also love the Neelys, I have seen comments that they are too syrupy, too sweet. I am not sure why it is wrong to display affection for each other. I think they are a darling couple and watching them work together inspires me and my husband to cook together as well. What is wrong with visibly showing your love for one another? Are peole that jaded?
Keep on keeping on Neelys!! :

This is delicious. I am fixing for the second time. Living in High Altitude had to do a little adjustments but not a big deal. Thanks!!!

I was so disappointed when I made this. It fried up nicely, no problems there. But it really was bland. We are not big on spicy so I stuck to the recommended amount of cayanne and paprika and added a ton of garlic powder, onion powder and salt and pepper, but both the steak and the gravy had no real flavor. I'm not sure what else to do so I probably won't try again.

I read all the comments before we made this and it seemed the only complaints were that it was bland. So, we just doubled the paprika and cayenne pepper. The flavor was fantastic! It was mouth watering! We were soooo full but could not stop eating it because it was so good. My husband has already requested that we make this again!
My only complaints are that, on my stove at least, the cook time was much less than 4-6 minutes per side. I did the first one for 4 minutes on one side and it was burnt. By the 3rd try, I realized that 3 minutes for the first side and 2 minutes after you've flipped it is plenty. My second complaint was just that I don't think the recipe made enough gravy. The gravy it did make was delicious and thickened up very quickly. Hands down, the best and easiest gravy I've ever made. But next time I will double the ingredients for the gravy so we have enough for the left overs.

The cooking directions are awesome but it definately needs more salt and flavor. We added extra cayenne, paprika and added salt to the flour and seasoned the gravy more. Still next time it needs a bit more than what we added. Overall it's a good recipe.

Made this recipe today and it was wonderful. Made it exactly as written. We raise our own steer so the meat was very flavorful to start with. This will be my go to recipe for cubed steaks! The family loved it.

This was the first time I have ever cooked this meal. My family thought this was excellent. I have never even thought making gravy like this before. You two have given me hope that I can make any meal just be patient and read the directions and most of all have fun.
Thank you

I made this after reading the reviews and loved it. I did add Onion Powder and Garlic Powder to the Steaks and the Gravy to give it more taste as well as sauteed Onions, only because this is what I do to smothered pork chops; LOVED IT!!!
