Oh my gosh, this was good! My family loved, loved all the flavors in this dish. I saw my husband go for thirds for the first time ever! He enjoyed this dish so much that he had to stop himself from eating!!! He said, "This is smack your wife good"...and I received tons of kisses. I made the Okra and Tomatoes recipe as well and both dishes were a perfect combination. The aroma from cooking had our home smellig so good, it reminded us of our time spent in New Orleans.

Highly recommend this dish and will make again and again. Thank you Nealy's for another winner!

I made this for my husband and he thought it was one of the best things that we have eaten. It was very tasty and he was craving it during the middle of the night. I cooked 1.5 cups rice in 3 cups of chicken broth and it came out perfect! The cayenne was a nice touch so we'll add a little bit more next time for an added kick. I'll definitely keep this in my cookbook!

This went very well with the cornish hen recipe. I will do this again.

I made this and I am not a cook. The recipe was easy to follow and my family enjoyed it. I did leave out the cayenne because my daughter says everything is spicy.

Exellent recipe. but try this for a kick forget the onions and drop a can a mild rotel. and to all those who want to save a little time, if you have a rice cooker drop in stock instead of water.

Love, love, love this....next time tho, I will cook the rice in half water and half stock. Once I combined the rice with the veggies and sausage, I found it a bit too salty for my taste. Everyone gobbled it up!

I love smoked sausage and that is all that we ate out of this recipe. The rice and veggies were bland. Don't waste your ingredients.

I wish I had read the last reviewer's about the rice being cooked in the chicken stock, I thought it was strange when I read the recipe, but now I understand how it should be done. Even though I followed the recipe and it was incorrect, the dish was still very good. Worked quite well with the Shrimp Creole

The recipe is written incorrectly. I believe that the Food Network staff are supposed to write out the recipes, but I have found many times that they are incorrect compared to what was in the actual episode. It happens with a lot of their shows. Luckily I had watched the episode so I knew that the rice was cooked in the chicken stock.

I decided to use Andouille sausage instead of the sausage used in the recipe. THat added a nice depth of flavor as well as a nice kick. This may not be traditional, New Orleans style dirty rice, but it is still pretty tasty. As someone who would rather not deal with chicken livers, I like having this option available.

Overall, we liked this. I served it with some cajun style grilled shrimp.
