Recipe was spot on tasty! Husband said that I nailed the perfect sweet potatoes and it tastes better than the way his mom and my mom make it. The sweet potatoes kept its form and was able to pick them up with a fork without falling apart.

I made this for a side dish for Thanksgiving. I added a bit of bourbon and topped with chopped pecans. I'm only mildly fond of sweet potatoes, but this was like eating a wonderful pie!

Loved it. I brought it to a family member's Thankgiving dinner and it was yum-mmy! I enjoyed it, so did the family but b/c of the foil application (steam--water and the butter, it was a pinch too thin for me. I like my sauce a little bit on the thick side, so next time I will use less butter and add a bit more syrup &/or brown suga baby!!. Otherwise--fab

I did a quick, couple minute, boil of the potatoes. I removed them from the water and once cooled, I sliced them. They were delicious! It was a family hit. Everyone was looking for more but there were no leftovers. Next time I will double the quantity. This dish is easy to make and has become a favorite.

Definitely an easy and delicious sweet potato side dish. I sliced them crosswise rather than lengthwise since I was concerned they would fall apart as I tend to over-bake them. I also sprinkled the dish with salt and pepper which gave it a more savory rather than sweet flavor which we prefer in a side dish. It is so easy to assemble this dish that it is now my go-to recipe for sweet potatoes.

Absolutely delicious! Third year we're making this recipe over our family favorite candied yams.

I made this recipe for our easter dinner (25 people. It was a hit. Different from our normal sweet potatoe recipes which we all were getting tired of. Everyone should try this recipe.
