We smoked 4 of these hens and quartered them for serving. They were delicious!

I too had trouble getting the glaze to cooperate. I sprinkled Wondra flour to thicken and made it work. It matters not; the birds were beyond delicious. Soaked hickory chips in foil packets on the Weber as TravelPricess points out made it work perfectly. SO good!

Excellent! Made this for Christmas Eve dinner. I used hickory chips which I had soaked for 1/2 hour in water. Placed them in a disposable aluminum pan inbetween the flavorizer bars and the grates on my Weber Gas grill. Preheated the grill on high -- to get the hickory chips smokin'. I then placed the hens on the grill, turned down to medium indirect, covered the grill and didn't peek. Wonderful smoky goodness. The sauce never really thickened up to coat the spoon, but it did make a good baste the last 15.

I had nevered tried Cornish Game Hens before. I saw the episode and had to make them. It was fabulous. My husband, who is a very picky eater, loved them too. It has become a regular item on our menu. We are even planning on making this for our Thanksgiving dinner. I love the Neelys!!!

The hens came out great and the rub was just right to complement them. I didnt use the glaze (thus the 4 as it didnt thicken. I would up pouring it down the drain. I followed the directions. Who else had problems with the glaze. Today was the first time I used the Rub and had to search to find it. I have it stored now so next time I am all set. I did make it in the oven, since it is the dead of winter in PA

Ingredients for the Neely's Dry Rub -
4 oz paprika, 2 oz white sugar, & 1 tsp onion powder. Mix all ingredients.
Gina mentioned the ingredients on the show, but I found the Neely's Dry Rub ingredients under one of their other BBQ recipes.

Saw this recipe this morning and had to try it. I used leg quarters instead of game hens as I had them on hand. Roasted them in the oven since its raining outside on 400 degrees. I basted the last 20minutes and the chicken came out moist and flavorful. This recipe was easy and so good!!! Everything I have tried with the Neelys has been great. Baked beans, honey cornbread, everything. Keep the recipes coming!
