This is the ONLY glazing recipe I use to prepare the cheap cut of "Butt Ham" we get at the store. For 6lbs+, it's about $10 and goes a long way. Great leftovers for making soup with potatoes and cabbage too! It's a definite crowd-pleaser and this glaze/recipe is super easy, cheap, and delicious.

Ham has never really excited me so I too have been searching for a great ham glaze for years. Most I've tried have been too sweet or just didn't give enough flavor. I followed this receipe exactly and was simply amazed at the flavor and how tender and juicly it turned out. I turned a $6.00 ham into something amazing. My family loved it. It was worth the time it took to bake.

I made this for Christmas dinner and everyone absolutely loved it. My ham was 11 lbs so I doubled the ingredients for the glaze.. I would actually prefer it to be a little more spicy so next time i'm going to add more red pepper flakes. Thanks for the recipe I love your show!

Followed this recipe, adding just a dash of the cayenne instead of the amount called for. Since my ham was 9+ lbs, I doubled the glaze, as suggested by previous posters.

I'm a novice cook, and this was easy. I'm a Honeybaked girl through and through, but this wowed even me. I will never buy those overpriced hams again! It came out with a ton of juice for dipping, didn't dry out at all. I didn't put the ham back in the oven for the last hour or so, as I didn't want to dry it out.

Good Luck- you won't be disappointed!

How can you bake a pre-cooked ham for two and a half hours and still be moist? I heated it once and then basted it. Didn't do the last hour. It was already looking overdone. Won't make it ever again. Big disappointment.

This ham glaze is absolutely delicious! I followed the recipe exactly and the only thing I would change is to double it. If you think the red pepper flakes and the cayenne will make it too hot to eat, don't worry, it won't. There was just a slight kick of heat, but it wasn't enough to even notice. Everyone in my family ate it with gusto-even the kids loved it, and they're the first ones to tell ya when something is too hot, too sweet, etc. I had an 10 pound shank and I scored the fat and I covered the entire ham before I put it in initially. I baked for an hour and put more glaze on. This made the outside of the ham so sweet and crunchy. I have on occasion bought one of those expensive honey baked hams, but with the Neely's ham glaze on hand, I will never buy another again. I bought the cheapest ham from my market and this glaze made the ham the best we've ever had. I saved a ton of money because I didn't buy the expensive ham. Thank you so much Neely's! You guys are wonderful to watch and learn from.

I was only cooking a 3# ham, but cutting the recipe (almost in half made me a dinner as yummy as a spicy little ham lollipop.

This is a great recipe and super simple to make. I would suggest doubling up on the glaze, it is very good and seemed like I could have used more.
