Yummy ingredients but came out swimming in a puddle of grease. The flavor may have been a winner if not for the gross texture once it was baked. I think I'll try using whole milk in place of the heavy cream next time and see if it makes a difference.

Wow!!! This dish is the most delicious thing I have EVER tasted. I wanted a special dish to make for my fiance to loves pasta and lobster. I love watching the Neelys and seen them make it on one of their shows. I knew this was the dish to make. Its not hard to make and tastes like a gourmet chef made it. The flavors of the different cheeses and the lobster are so defined. You can taste lobster in every bite although each bite may not have the lobster pieces. Its the perfect blend of the two cheeses. Dish is rich but so tasty. This is definitely a must try and a dish I will make very every special occassion.

Absolutely, delicious. It's very rich and savory. I substituted 10 oz langostine instead of 16oz of lobster meat and a bit more white wine. The dish didn't have that overpowering seafood taste, but just enough of the sweet taste of the langostine was just right. I will add it to my favorites along with Horn & Hardart's mac-n-cheese.

I have a large family so lobster wasn't possible to purchase, so I opted to use bacon instead. Wow, what an amazing dinner. Nothing was left for the next day but a square for my husbands lunch. Thank you, we loved it!

This recipe is awesome! The best mac n cheese ever. Instead of lobster I used colossal sized shrimp (about 2lbs and substituted gruyere cheese with swiss cheese. As for the white cheddar I used a combo of white and yellow together. On top I put extra bread crumbs and sprinkled a generous amount of paprika on the top and let it bake longer to get that extra crunch on top. Let's just say once you try this recipe you can't go back to regular mac n cheese.

I think that there is an error in the amount of flour used in this recipe! 5 tablespoons of flour make a very thick paste that can't be reduced as described in the recipe. Mary Pfeifer

I made this for Christmas Eve dinner and it was just soooooo good!! I know you shouldn't try a recipe for the 1st time for a party but I am so glad i did with this recipe. I followed the recipe word for word and added an extra lobster and it came out wonderful. I love the cheese combination and it wasnt greesy at all. I did not butter the pan in advance and it seemed like it didnt need to. Next time i will add more lobsters because the 3 tails i used was just not enough. =

Made this for a Christmas side the second year in a row and I have only one word - AWESOME! Rich, creamy and utterly delicious. The most decadent mac and cheese I have ever eaten. The Neely's do it again - thank you!

We just made this dish for our Christmas Day dinner and it will be a tradition from here on out! We followed the recipe exactly and it's wonderful. The lobster is a perfect addition to everyone's favorite comfort food and it raises it to a whole new level. Every ingredient in this dish plays an important role, yet nothing is overpowering. All of the flavors blend well together. The lobster is perfect because it's sweet and holds up to the penne's texture and the strong savory flavors of cheddar and gruyere. Hats of to the Neelys for sharing this well thought-out recipe. It's easy to make and a crowd pleaser.
