Yummy! Mac, cheese, spice, bacon, more cheese...what's not to like? This is a great recipe. Big hit with my sons, husband, and me.

I tried this recipe today, and I must say it was delicious! I did switch up the recipe slightly, by adding two eggs for richness and using monterey jack cheese blend (already shredded for the topping. I will be using this recipe again, but will experiment with an additional cheese for a much more creamier consistency.

I've made the recipe a lot. Use extra sharp and grate it yourself for best results. Also for those who want it creamier, I add a can of condensed cheese. Everyone loves it, especially the bacon!

I've been trying to find a good homemade mac & cheese recipe for the longest and came across this recipe. I made it for the first time this thanksgiving and it was an absolute HIT! It was delish!! I like my mac really really cheesy so when me and hubby make it tomorrow together for my birthday, I'm going to double the cheese and I'll also add some sharp cheddar to give it more kick. Also the first time I made it, instead of putting the parmesan on top with the bacon and chips, I blended it in with the sauce. Great!!!My hubby used to not like mac & cheese until now so this is definitely going to be a regular recipe in my book. Thank you Neeleys for the awesome recipe!!!!!

So disappointing. I made this for Thanksgiving dinner. What a huge disappointment for adults and children alike that we had to skip our Mac and cheese. I do not recommend this recipe at all.

This recipe makes a lot of roux, so if you skimp on cheese or use only a mild cheddar, your mac n' cheese will have a nice consistency, but taste bland.

To make this this recipe turn out delicious, buy two 10 oz bars of extra sharp cheddar and grate it yourself. Pre-shredded cheese is often drier and less flavorful than the alternative. (Note: This will yield considerably more than 3 cups of cheese, but add them all anyway. Be generous with your addition of spices and worcestershire sauce; the flour and milk mixture can take it -- just use your taste buds and common sense. Lastly, don't cheap on the parm you put on top of the dish. That large canister of grated parmesan in your fridge will NOT do the trick. A hard parm that you grate yourself will look nice and add volumes of flavor.

IMO, I think Gina Neely is so clever for putting the potato chip crumble on top of the mac. It adds crunch and a subtle earthy flavor that I enjoyed.

Didn't like this recipe at all, it wasn't flavorful enough and wasn't cheesy enough
