This mac and cheese was the best! For those that complain it was bland, perhaps try putting salt on the noodles that's always a given. I loved the mac and cheese and will do this again!

This was very dry and their wasn't much of a cheese flavor.

I liked the idea of the bacon on top, but the chips is kind of childish IMO. I also thought that Paresan is too mild for Mac & Cheese, I would have preferred a mixture of colby and monterey jack, in addition to the cheddar. My best advice would be to use eggs instead of flour, it will make the recipe moister, and will bring out the cheese flavor more.

I would have been dissapointed if they served this in their restaurant.

I made this macaroni and cheese for Easter dinner. It was amazing! All of the flavors were excellent! In addition, the bacon and potato chip grust was super. I will definitely make this version again and again!

The recipe is a tad bland, but easily adjusted. The creamy-ness is the best I have ever tasted! Not the least bit grainy...
I kick up the taste by adding pepper and doing a mixture of cheeses. Like 1 cup of asiago and 2 cups sharp cheddar.

I was a little apprehensive to make this based on some of the reviews saying it was bland. But I decided to give it a try and switch it up a little bit. Based on the reviews I used a block of New York Extra sharp cheddar cheese and used 4 cups. The bag cheese is not as good from past experiences. I used half and half instead of milk. I used all the other ingredients except for the hot sauce and it was very cheesy and very tasty. You could really taste the Cheddar Cheese and was a big hit at a family dinner. People asked where I got the recipe and wanted it. The bacon and chips, and I did put parm. cheese and some mexican cheese on top, which were a great addition. I just bought the ready cooked bacon. It was very easy and I used Bow Tie noodles as I could not find the other ones called for. Very easy recipe and very good. Will def. make again.

No flavor but nice texture. I added more cheddar but still needs another cheese to bring it up. Ended up loading on the hotsauce for me. The entire family had same comment - can't taste the cheese and very bland.

It was nice to try something new. We all like the topping so I will be adding it to my own mnc recipe.

I agree with other viewers in that this recipe needs a lot of special touches to make it flavorful. If you don't include the bacon, the recipe is too bland as is and you can't taste the cheese or really any flavor. When combined with a saltier or savior main dish such as the meatloaf, it tastes good combined. But, on it's own, it's just plain and tasteless. I had a lot of leftovers so I sauted some seasoned meat with onions to make a "Cheeseburger Mac" casserole to try and use it up.

I agree with the other bland reviews, this looked wonderful, but had no taste other than the nutmeg. The topping was good, but will not make again.
