This is the macaroni and cheese recipe I've been searching for. I made it for the holidays and my family loved it. Now I can make it by heart. Thanks!

This is the only Mac and Cheese my husband will eat anymore. I love this recipe with my whole heart...clogged arteries and all. I added a bit of garlic and onion powder in the sauce. I use a cheddar/pepper jack cheese blend sometimes, or a cheddar/smoked mozz blend depending on how I'm feeling.

Our whole family enjoyed this version of mac-n-cheese, definitely a keeper. I cheated and used half a cup of real bacon bits - saves time and splatter. I also added a dash of garlic powder to the cheese sauce.

This was delicious! I didn't add the bacon or potato chips, because it was fattening enough as it was. I also added a cup of gruyere cheese and the rest cheddar. It is the best comfort food!

Made this for my parents last night and unfortunately was not able to taste the final product, but got a text message from my sister with the word "AWESOME" in it, so I am giving this 5 stars!
I did taste the sauce, which I thought was excellent and can only imagine how wonderful the potato chip/bacon topping is. I used a 3-cheddar cheese blend, which I thought worked well. Next time I may try subbing some whole grain mustard for the dry mustard, as I recently had some killer mac & cheese at a restaurant, that had a bit of whole grain mustard in it and I thought it added a really nice kick.
This one's a keeper!

HORRIBLE! The worst Macaroni and Cheese recipe EVER! I am a huge fan of Pat and Gina's recipes, but this was terrible. I was actually embarrassed to have this on my Christmas dinner table. Not at all what I expected.

This is a really good recipe, it is different from what I am use to; however, it was very good. I mad a few adjustment to feed 15 people. I left out the cyane pepper and nutmeg because I was not sure how my coworker would like it. I prepared this mac & cheese for a pot-luck we had at work and evryone except one person loved it (she didn't like the becon and potato chips. My 15 year old tried it after I removed it form the oven, she had the nerve to tell me it was better than my recipe. With that said I will definately make this dish again.

Caveat: I made this recipe for a family Christmas dinner, adjusting/multiplying the recipe to feed 25. My rating is based on those adjustments until I make the recipe again.
I enjoyed the crunchy potato chip (we used Ruffles, parmesan, and bacon topping on this mac and cheese, it was very tasty and crunchy! However, I felt that the mac and cheese itself was bland. I overdid it on the nutmeg (see caveat and that's all I could taste. I love a lot of cheese in my mac and cheese and this recipe didn't disappoint. However, only having one cheese in the cheese sauce left me wanting more. Next time, I'm doing one pound of three different cheeses (like mozzarella, cheddar, and feta for the cheese sauce.
Overall, I didn't love this recipe but I understand that the recipe may have been flawed due to the adjustments made for feeding a crowd. I'll be making it again for sure, just with my own adjustments.

First trying this recipe. My husband enjoyed it, however, it would take less flour. I will use extra sharp cheddar next time. It was a simple recipe not much labor involved. Having family from out of town we will see what they think.
Thanks Pat and Gina
