This recipe is not good!!! It was waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much sugar for the amount of milk used. Was mama Daisy made of sugar?

Delicious and just like the banana pudding I ate as a child in North Carolina! This is not Jello pudding so it should be a little runnier. I have made this several time and everyone loves it. I always add a few more tbsps flour but it is amazing and I hate to share!!!

Best pudding dish ever! However, I will admit that I have made the pudding from scratch, like the recipe calls for, and it was not as good as when I used "Cook-and-serve" Jello pudding. Not to mention making it from scratch took WAY too long.
    Notes:
    -Use "Cook-and-serve" Jello pudding
-Feel free to change out vanilla pudding for chocolate pudding - or as my husband prefers, chocolate AND vanilla!
-When making the whipped cream, keep it on the less-sweet side. The pudding is pretty sweet so you need to balance it out.

You cannot go wrong! Everyone I've served this too has gone gaga over it! My husband and kids ask me to make it at least once a month

Lesson learned---always read the reviews before you try the recipe. It turned out just as the others said----soupy and wayyyy to sweet.

I picked this recipe because other reviewers said it was sweet - and I like sweet. However, it turned out to be syrupy sweet! I asked my 14 year old son to taste the pudding and he said it tasted like cake frosting! So I doubled the milk (at this point, I switched to regular, whole milk, salt and cornstarch (yes, I used cornstarch because flour seemed weird to me. This helped the flavor. The other issue was the thickening factor. As I mentioned, I used cornstarch which has double to thickening power as flour and for whatever reason, when I pulled it out of the fridge after cooling, it had gone from moderately thick back to thin. What a disappointment. I'm giving it 3 stars because I think the flavor is there, once you cut the sweetness....

Complete waste of time and ingredients!! I wish I had read the reviews prior to trying this recipe. I followed the recipe EXACTLY and the pudding never thickened, then I added 4-5 more tbsps of flour and it was still runny. Big disappointment!!

Although the pudding from this recipe is very tasty, it is also WAY TOO SWEET...and I am a fan of SWEET! One serving should = one spoonful! Seriously!
Also, (although I followed the recipe to the tee my pudding turned out to be VERY thin and never did set up satisfactorily.
However, I would give this recipe another try though...tweaking here and there, but definitely cutting the sugar by at least 3/4 cup!
    Gotta add this: I ♥ The Neely's
