I have not made a Home Made Banana Pudding in several yrs. My mother's recipe was by memory only and I couldn't for the life of me remember the amount of each ingredient needed. This recipe was slightly different and I never used butter or cool whip in my pudding before. After reading the reviews,I tweek it by using 1c sugar and adding 1.5 tbsp of "All Purpose Flour". Since most of the reviews complained about "thicking" was an issue I set my stove to medium. I set the sauce pan inside a cast iron skillet, added water and this was my broiler.
I used a wisk to continuously stir. Whalaaa! GREAT PUDDING!Smooth, thicken to perfection, and the taste was perfecto all in about 25 minutes. I am excited I now have a new recipe that gives me the old fashion pudding like my mother use to make.
Thank you Patrick and Gina for sharing your Down Home Recipes with the world.

This recipe is way too sweet. I had to throw it out. My son stated that it was good, but too sweet. All my husband could do was say "wow". Not sure how some gave this recipe five starts. This was just a waste of time and money.

This is WAY too much sugar! It was sweet to the point of being inedible. Maybe there's a mistake in the sugar measurement. Two and a half cups did seem like a lot.

I tried to make this, also my first time making banana pudding. I had to keep asking my momma about how things where supposed to turn out. The pudding didn't turn out right one bit. The flour did not mix in completely and it did not set up right after 3 hours of being in the fridge. Will not be using this recipe again.
