I made banana pudding a few years ago for a family reunion. However, I took my late mother-in-law's recipe and used Jello Instant Pudding, bananas and vanilla wafers. It's so easy and was scarfed up before even a quarter of the family got to the buffet table. Sometimes, easier really is better!

Try Paula Deen's Not Yo Mama's Banana Pudding if you want a tasty banana pudding. This was terrible.

This recipe is amazing, I did not have the problem of it being too sweet. Also, many posts say it is a waste of time because your pudding mix never thinkened, well make sure you are using all purpose flour and not self rising flour because the first time I made it, I did it with self rising flour and it never thinkened, but I did it again using all purpose flour like the recipe calls for and it thickened up very nicely. I take this dish everywhere and it always get eaten all up!!!!!!!!

OMG... It was a waste of money and time. It never thickend i mixed and mixed for about 40 minutes and still refrigerated over night next morning it was still really runny. Also thought way to sweet and I made enough to serve 40! Never again waste of money. I wish I would have read the reviews first.

My custard never thickened but the kids ate it anyway and loved the flavor. They said it was sweet but not too sweet. Hubby never wants it again he like the usual way I make it. May try again!!

This is the best banana pudding I've ever had. Yes, it is sweet, but I love sweet. I didn't have a problem with it thickening for me.

I prepared this dessert for my family after reading several of the reviews. So I noticed that most of them commented on how sweet this dishwas so I put in one cup of sugar and it was still to sweet for my family. But please be advised that it also took forever to "thicken".. But it had a good tast just to sweet will make again but with less sugar.
