I have made this recipe many times and for those who have made it and said it wasnt good you are crazy you are suppose to make the recipe and then make it your own. Love u neely family im mad i missed u at the easter egg roll

This is my first review and my first time making Gumbo.. I followed everything but left out the chicken and added sausages. The gumbo was okay, but I have had better gumbo, This was not the gumbo I recalled having growing up. I'll make gumbo again but not this one.

I have made this recipe several times, always a hit at the dinner table. I serve with sticky rice and cornbread.

I have never tried cooking gumbo before. Other recipes are just too complex. I'm not really a cook so I do look for recipes that are easy to follow. I find this gumbo recipe to be simple and sooooo delicious. My family loved it.

I grew up in/around NOLA. Was excited to find this recipe because I lost mine in Katrina. I've tried several Neely's recipes before and had been happy with them. But this one was a complete FAIL. It was bland! Added a LOT more seasoning to try to improve it but it still was not helping. Everyone was so disappointed.

As usual for the Neely's this was absolutely wonderful! Huge hit with my family even shared some with the neighbor who immediately wanted the recipe. I only made changes due to what I had on hand. I used a couple of cans of adobe fire roasted tomatoes since I didn't have any fresh and I also added andouille sausage just because I wanted it. I have tried several of their recipes and never been disappointed! Just wish they were back on in the 5:30 slot see they aren't there anymore :(

My family LOVED this recipe. I am will to do this one again. I had planned for this to feed four, two adults, two teens more than just one serving. It made one serving for the four of us because the kids just continued to eat this until it was gone. We ran out of rice and they just ate the gumbo like soup. What a great flavor, easy to follow directions. Kudos to Nanna and the Neelys for this addition to my kitchen arsenal of sure fire recipes.

OMG!!!!! this is so GOOD AND FINGER LICKING GOOD....i couldnt stop eating it.....wonderfull recipe think that i'll be making it a few more times.....
