After YEARS of trying to get the perfect catfish, This is it! The flavors just burst in your mouth. The remoulade sauces is simple to put together and so tasty, we were looking for other things to use it on.

I fixed this fish receipe on Sunday for my sister's family and they could not tell that this was a different one from mine, which is great! I used a fish called Basa which is a farm raised fish and tastes like cat fish except this is a white meat fish. I do not like the dark meat of cat fish. The peanut oil burns faster than canola oil so I have to continue to watch my temperature. I had a couple of well-well done pieces and that suited my husband just fine becase that is the way he like his.

I was practicing for my annual fish fry the day after Thanksgiving.

I tried this recipe today, and it was a total disaster, and I don't know why. I've fried fish before; I've used buttermilk before, but I haven't used cornmeal in a long time--I use fish fry. I think I'll stick with my Fish Fry. The fish completely lost it's integrity in the deepfryer; it fell apart; coating fell off and it was tasteless. I don't know what went wrong.

I saw this on last night's show and it looked so good and easy I'm going to try it tonight. My husband loves fried catfish and hush puppies so I'll be making them both.

I am from Hawaii; catfish is not a well known dish here. But this recipe sounds and looks delicious! My children attend(ed college in Alabama, Tennesee and Georgia. They love catfish! So do I. I will try this recipe ASAP. Now can I add more cayenne pepper? Can I use frozen fish? Aloha

I'm not a big catfish fan but my husband loves it. It's always seemed rather bland to me & greasy but this recipe was great. I liked catfish I cooked for the 1st time. Much more flavor & my husband said it was my best attempt. I did not make the sauce as I like tarter sauce only on fish & my husband doesn't like fish sauces at all. I will be fixing more catfish from now on which pleases my husband a lot.

I can't tell you how good this is!!! I'm in love. I doubled the recipe on everything & was able to get 6 large catfish, cut them in half, making a total of 12 nice sized pieces to feed my family of 5. It was perfect. We even had left overs to enjoy the next day.
This is a keeper & now a family favorite. Thank You!!

I was always afraid of frying fish until I saw the Neelys cook their Southern-style recipe. My first attempt went well; thanks to a great recipe from the Neelys and using a candy thermometer in my fryer so I did not under or over cook my fish. I actually made catfish nuggets and I can't wait to make this recipe for my folks soon. Thanks Neelys!!
