It's in the oven, making it for a second time, followed exactly but added a little more sugar and a teaspoon vanilla because I add it in almost everything : smells good. I get scared with store bought crusts burning easily and so I only had it at 400 degrees for 10 minutes before I put the pie in. The strawberry whip is delish. I let it cool for a long time and everything comes together and not runny at all. Thanks guys! love their chocolate coconut cookies too!

If anyone in your family is a strawberry lover, they will LOVE this recipe.

I was a bit worried as it baked that it would be too runny, but after letting it set for a few hours in the fridge, it was perfection! I increased the sugar a bit to the filling and didn't bother with the topping, just a nice vanilla ice cream on top.

Thank you Neely's for a great Easter dinner dessert.

I LOVE this recipe! It's super easy and tastes great. The second time i made it I used 3/4 cup of sugar and added 1 teaspoon vanilla. Thank you Neely's and FN!

Really delicious. I tweaked it a little and used the 6 tbsp of flour suggested by another reviewer and the consistency was soft but not runny-in other words perfect. I increased the sugar to a scant 3/4 cup, and added a generous splash of vanilla and butter extract along with a squeeze of lemon. Prepped and baked it as called for. What can I say I like to get creative.

Used an entire 32 oz. of strawberries.

Made this for my father-in-law, he and the rest of the family absolutely loved it! I followed the recipe and my only complaint is that they don't really tell you exactly what to do with the strawberries except the hull and wash them. I cut mine down or the would not fit in the pie pan. Now that could just be me since this was my first attempt at making a berry pie and so I just might be missing something. On the whole though it was down right delicious!

The pie was wonderful. The negative reviews are confusing. My pies have not been runny at all. However, I substitute flour for cornstarch. You simply double the amount if using flour. This may help for those who dislike cornstarch. As a Southerner raised by an early 20th Century cook, the concept of cornstarch eludes me when it comes to pies. Cornstarch loses its power to thicken when baked at temps above 250° for long periods. Remember, too, that a baked strawberry pie will be juicier than some other fruit pies as strawberries have a high water content. Also, you may need to increase the amount of sugar if your strawberries are tart. I increase the sugar to as much as 3/4 to 1 cup. One reviewer complained about the saltiness of a store-bought crust, but that varies depending upon brand. Hey, make your own crust. Ultimately, your recipe is only as good as your ingredients. This recipe is so simple. It is difficult to screw it up. Make adjustments.

I don't know why a few reviews say this was a terrible recipe. They obviously didn't follow the recipe correctly. Don't add anything extra. Just follow the 4 simple steps and it comes out perfect. Maybe if you have really ripe berries that will make the pie to runny. I just had store bought berries and followed the recipe. The only thing I didn't do is make the top crust like the recipe. I just made the normal way.

This Strawberry Pie was out of this world. It was delicious and easy. Pat and Gina's recipes are always so good! I make their food all the time. Good down home cooking.

And one other thing. I have to comment on one other review here. CORNSTARCH DOES NOT MAKE FOOD SOUR LMAO It is a thickener ha ha ha
