Very good but very watery. Next time I will use more cornstarch.

Sue said it first - use raw sugar on the crust and the soft strawberry pie will have a nice, sweet crunch. Very good recipe. It's a hit with friends and an excellent gift to households of non-bakers!

Susan, to hull strawberries means to remove the stems; then they can be sliced.

Delicious without the strawberry whipped cream, but with the whipped cream this recipe is something special.

The recipe calls for the strawberries to be hulled, but the picture looks like they have been sliced. Do I use the strawberries basically whole or slice them?

This pie is awesomely delicious. I used raw sugar on the crust and I really like the crunch. I've made this recipe twice. And I'm about to make it a third time and freeze it unbaked for future eating.

I made this pie last night, the only adjustment I made was the amount of sugar. On this episode of the show, the Neely's said that if your strawberries are already sweet then you don't have to add the full 1/2 cup of sugar... I wish I did! I added a 1/4 cup instead. After it was ready I didnt feel it was sweet enough. I also think the temperature and bake time is off a bit. It only needed about half the time that was given. I'm glad I made the strawberry whipped cream, it made up for the lack of sweetness in the pie. My family liked the pie more than I did. On a side note, I also did the cut out of the circles that they did on the show and I also used the sanding sugar to sprinkle on the top of the crust!

I have made this pie twice and everyone really loves it. I changed a few things though. I added more confectioners sugar and ,for the adults, I added Grand Marnier liqueur to the whipping cream. I also added some raspberry liqueur (chambord to the pie filling as well. Boy oh boy, lip smacking good. And by the way, TRIPPLE the whipped cream recipe, the first time I made it, there wasn't enough for everybody.
