Hey Ya'll! I was born and raised in the Peach State (Georgia. Never in my life have I heard of making a Peach Cobbler without peeling the peach first. Please do yourself a favor and peel the peaches BEFORE putting it in the cobbler. (This recipe would also work using canned peaches....just be sure to drain them first. Also, a pinch of cinnamon is delicious in a peach cobbler. Happy Baking!!

Made this today for dessert and let's just say i should have listen to the other reviews. It wasn't bad but I ignored everyone suggestion on not adding the second cup of brown sugar :(. The second cup made it toooooo sweet. Next time I will skip the second cup of brown sugar but overall it was good, just to sweet for my taste.

This Recipe was great i made it for a cookout and my family & friends loved it.
After reading the comments i did make some changes; I only put a 1 cup of brown sugar and it was still very sweet, instead of using almond liqueur
i used bourbon, i added some cinnamon and used crescent rolls for my crust.

I made the peach cobbler today and it was wonderful. The dough was too die for. This was my first time baking a peach cobbler, and I am sure the original recipe was awesome but because my mother always added vanilla, melted butter, and cinnamon to peach cobbler I did too. I also made it a double crust as well. My husband and daughter loved it. The recipe did not say if the peaches should be peeled or not, but I peeled them since fruit skin can, at times, be a little tough when baked, I didn't want to chance it. I am taking some to my mother tomorrow to get her critique. I am sure she will like it as well. The next time I make it I will try to follow the recipe exactly.

I have never made Peach Cobbler before and I tried this recipe for my first time, it was great!! I recommend making your own dough like the Neely's did. If you use a store bought pizza crust like I saw in a previous post, when you bake it, it rises up and ends up being too thick. If you make your own, you can make it to your liking. I'll definitely make it again, my husband loved it! :-

This recipe is extremely sweet! If I make it again, I will cut the amount of sugar in half. Also, very, very runny. Probably will not make this recipe again.

I read all the reviews noticing that 90% changed the recipe. I considered all the comments and made the recipe with minor changes- I peeled the peaches, added an additional teaspoon of corn starch and used room temperature butter. It turned out fantastic!! It was VERY sweet. My husband loved it!! I am a southerner who never baked so it was such a joy to pull it out of the oven, warm, bubbly and with a fantastic crust!!
I WILL make this again and cut back on the sugar. It troubled me that most of the negative reviews were by folks who significantly changed the recipe. I admit that Neely's recipes are hit or miss with me- but this peach cobbler was definitely a HIT!! My suggestions are to follow the recipe precisely cutting back on the sugar if you prefer.

This recipe was a great hit for our Fourth of July shindig, but the other reviewers are right, it's waaaaaay too sweet! I recommend serving with vanilla ice cream; it really brings out the flavor and you won't shock your taste buds with sugar. Also, I put in three tablespoons of bourbon instead of almond liqueur, so yummy!
