I have lactose intolerant eaters in my home and feel very recipe challenged. I have mastered Garlic mashed potatoes WITHOUT ANY CREAM or MILK. Use a pinch more of salt and substitute heavy cream with 1/2 cup of lactose milk (reduced fat and 1/4 cup of the reserved potato water. They are light, less fattening, VERY flavorful and make my family smile.

These were the best mashed potatoes I have ever made! I was worried that I was using an entire head of garlic, but they were wonderful. The garlic didn't overpower anything and they were amazingly creamy. I plan on making them again soon!

I've made this dish many times already since Thanksgiving. It's great with or without the garlic. The butter/cream make it nice and moist. Definitely a keeper!

It was my first time hosting the Family Thanksgiving Dinner and this is one of the dishes that i prepared. Everybody loved it!!! This is the best mashed potatoes I've ever done and tried. Thanks!

The perfect holiday side for any dish! By far the most flavorful mashed potato recipe I have ever tried, even with only a few ingredients! You just can't beat this recipe from the Neelys.

MMMMMMM. These were the best mashed potatoes I have every made. Not too much garlic, but great flavor, so creamy and delicious. I made these for Thanksgiving for a change, and now it will be my go to mashed potato recipe.

I made these for Thanksgiving and they were a huge hit. I added some chopped scallions as well. So great, love the roasted garlic. I'll definitely be making these again.

I absolutely loved them! I hate a strong garlic taste, I don't even buy garlic, only in powder. The garlic taste was perfect, not strong at all. I like to add sharp cheddar to mashed potatoes & made them great!
