It wasn't to bad with the exception of that it looked like shrimp swimming in tomatoe soup, I added smoke sauage to give it a boast of flavor. I like the Neelys but not this Recipe.

Superb dish! I can't wait to try for my southern friends along with the hush puppies the Neely's taught me. Keep up the good cooking ya'll.

I don't know what those people were talking about that rated the recipe as bad because my family of nothing but men loved it. A loaf of good bread went great with it. I did though add the sausage with it and a dash more of hot sauce. But like the lady mentioned in her review, if you cook alot you have to adjust to flavors. I love you Neelys. Linda

Try adding 2 Tbsp. of chili powder for more flavor. It's much better with this.

this was more like V8 juice with shrimp floating in it... maybe if the neelys focused more on their recipes and cooking and less time kissing and dancing and telling boring stories their food would come out better....

This recipe was good, but even when I added more seasoning (thyme, tumeric, and a couple dashes of red wine it was still a bit bland. So, I seared smoked sausage in a small separate pan then de-glazed the pan with chicken stock and poured it into the creole and it was FANTASTIC! It adds just that hint of flavor it needs! YUM! I used chicken stock because that's what I had in the pantry and it still came out DELICIOUS! :

This was the best Creole I've ever gotten from a recipe. Thanks to the Neelys, my dinner was a hit. Even though the temperature outside was in the low 90's, the creole had just the right heat. I put my own spin on it adding some baby shrimp and clams, plus clam stock. Put extra hot sauce on the table for others to add, if need be. Thanks again. Lv the show!

Love the Neelys but this recipe was not good. Didn't look anything like the picture. Followed the recipe exactly, except i used a can of diced tomatoes instead of whole tomatoes. It was too watery, even after simmering on med-high for almost an hour. And the lack of herbs made it very bland. After serving it on rice, we had to salt it a lot. If i were to try this again in the future, i would add more spices. maybe some Old Bay like someone had suggested. and use less liquid, and maybe add some sausage.

This recipe was quick and tasty. I scaled it down as I'm a party of one and saved a few vegetables to put in later in the cooking process to add new bursts of flavor and it was wonderful. I also put in just a tad of Cajun seasoning and It came out amazingly authentic tasting. It could have probably used a little sausage as well.
