This was the best part of our Christmas meal. The hushpuppies were great! Thanks to Gina and Pat for sharing.

We have made the onion dip MANY, MANY times! We've taken it to parties and it has been the biggest HIT, everyone wants the recipe! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. We haven't tried the hushpuppies YET, but we're looking forward to it.

I enjoyed the hushpuppies and actually made them larger..more fritter size. We didn't use the dip and I thought the recipe could use more cheese as I barely noticed it and I am a cheese lover.

Being from the south I appreciate a good puppie. Since I like a little more bang in the sauce, I added a little dill, some horseradish mustard, and a dash of sugar with lemon juice over the top. Next time I am going to try adding some crispy bacon bits to the puppies.

I watched this episode last night and was immediately intrigued by the crispy, golden goodness that came across the TV as the Neelys were fryin' up a storm. I didn't make the dipping sauce, but substituted homemade Ranch dressing instead. Holy Cow! Everyone was in a food coma after eating these hush puppy babies! Being a whitey CA native, we don't normally encounter puppies in restaurants (and NEVER do white people make these at home, at least in CA, but everyone was raving about the yumminess of these delectable morsels. Hooray to the Neelys for this marvelous recipe and I am now the deep-frying queen of the neighborhood. Is that a good thing? I am going to have to start frying outside...it does smell up the house. I receive a lot of accolades on my cooking, but these won BIG kudos! Thanks Patrick and Gina - kiss-kiss, hug-hug!

THe Neeleys are the BEST chefs that you have on FOODNETWORK. This recipe is awesome. We are tired of all the Rachel's, INA and her single men, and Paula. Keep these good recipes coming.

The recipe was very easy to follow. I made these to go with some red fish, and they totally upstaged the main course. We useed the dipping sauce with both the fish and the hushpuppies. I couldn't keep my husband out of the hushpuppies while I was cooking. Totally awesome recipe!
