We used your recipe with a slight variation - instead of apple cider, we used orange juice and it was a hit with the family for Christmas Day dinner (2009. Thank you very much and we love your show.

I decided to serve Ham for Thanksgiving along side the Turkey (Alton Brown's Good Eats Roast Turkey for the first time this year because of a grocery special - buy the ham, get the turkey free.

The rub was fantastic. We had smoked spanish paprika, and that worked very well. We put it on the grill without the smoking. That also was fantastic - the oven was freed up for other things! Despite not smoking the ham, the paprika we used was great.

The glaze was great...except I'd make it w/o the butter next time. It separated too easily and didn't need butter.

With the leftovers, we made a great pizza - ham glaze as the sauce, ham, caramelized onions, and cheese on a premade crust. It was amazing!

    Great job!

All I have to say is YUM! This was the best Easter Ham my family has ever had! My husband actually found the recipe & I made it for our Easter dinner...my step son who refuses to eat ham devoured his plate & asked for more! This will be a recipe we use every year & one that I pass along to my children. Thank you Neely's - this was a treasure!!

We tried this for Christmas. We didn't have a smoker so we cooked it in the oven and it was delicious. I can only imagine how much better it will cooked on a smoker. This recipe is a definite keeper!

This was the best ham that we have had in about 18 years, since my mother died. This recipe will be passed on to my grandchildren, because they loved it as much as we did. GREAT JOB!!! Loved it. Thank you

My husband and I enjoy cooking a lot, so we tried this recipe. It was the best ham we ever had. We are definitely keeping this recipe and we would not change anything about it. This is so much easier than baking a regular ham & tastes so much better! It seems like a ham that you would buy at a specialty store or in a food magazine that costs a small fortune. We even had sandwiches later after it was cold and it still tasted great.

I agree, I cut a few slices off before topping the ham with the glaze, as the kids were a little put off by the molasses and bourbon. However, the rest of us absolutely loved this ham, and will make it over and over again. My only changes: using apple juice instead of cider, and baking it for 2 hours on low rather than smoking - just wasn't able to tackle the smoker this year! But I'm sure that smoking it would have made it even better. Loved it - and love the Neelys - as a hometown Memphis girl, I'm spoiled having their restaurant just a mile away - love your show as well!

The whole family voted this the best (even over the desserts!. The only thing I did different was to put the glaze on the side because it had a strong bourbon flavor and the little ones didn't care for it...but the adults sure did! It was delicious from start to finish. Thanks for a great recipe that I will make again and again.
