Everything the Neelys do is golden. It's great seeing the grill you just bought last week, on the recipe video for the turkey you want to smoke. Down home he!! yeah.

We make this turkey every year for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Our friends and family love it and think it's the best turkey they have ever had. Thank you for such a fantastic recipe!

Cooked a 20lb Turkey this Thanksgiving 2012. Bought the same smoker that Pat has, first time smoking anything. Turkey was sooo moist and flavorful. Don't change anything follow recipe. The Neely's never disappoint, keep it up you guys. Thanks.

I cook turkey back in 2008.And I love it. In 2009 my baby brother came by to help with the bird and I watch him put to much thyme on my brid had no ideal it would make it taste so bad I cry all night long.A lesson was learn don't let someone do something they known nothing adout. To this day he dose not how upset I was.But in year of 2012 I will get down with Turkey All by My Self and it will get 5 stars

This is going to be the second time we are using this recipe. I only use the brining part of it. The first time, I cooked the turkey in a roaster on the counter. It was so moist and flavorful!!! The entire family was amazed!! Thanks so much for the recipe!! This year we fried it same amazing results!! Will definately keep on using this one!! Thanks for the new tradition!

Awesome!!! The turkey was so moist. The hickory smoke flavor was wonderful. Everyone was fighting for the leftovers. We didn't make the gravy exactly to the recipe but it turned out great! This will be the go to turkey recipe. The Neely's haven't disappointed me, yet!

This is the third time of me using this receipe. Last year I used it and my family said that going forward this is the only way they want their turkey Thanksgiving. I also used this at Christmas for the big family gathering and now this year I am passing this receipe on because they want to use it this year. The turkey is beyond moist and oh so yummie.I did substituted some of the ingredients such as instead of bourbon I used brandy because of the sweetness. I also added a little liquid smoke to the brine and stuffed the cavity with apples.

The brine and the smoke on my turkey was off the chain ! Yep, it was moist and delicious. And the leftovers were better than cold smoked deli turkey.

Only thing... it took me 16 hours to smoke my 22 pounder, I don't know why it says 6 to 7 hours. I used an offset firebox texas smoker at 225 with plenty of water pans on the bottom. The skin turned out black, but the flavor was out of this world gooood !
