I watched the show a couple of years ago and decided to try this recipe last Thanksgiving. Not patting myself on the back but that was the absolute best turkey i have ever had. Most of my guest agreed!

I'm always a little skeptical when making recipes from television because they always look better on television. Let me tell you that I had no leftover turkey for turkey sandwiches. It was the best turkey ever and I will be frying a turkey for next year or Christmas and will follow their recipe to the tee.

Great turkey - it really impressed a large family of foodies. Smoking time was a bit longer ( /- 8 1/2 hours for my 15 lb. bird in a Weber bullet smoker, and I used apple wood instead of hickory. I had some trouble thickening this gravy, but the flavor was fantastic. Best bird ever.

    To Bellanoir
I made this recipe using a 1/4 of an 18 lb turkey, just the leg.
Soaked the wood in a roasting pan before cooking. Tented the leg with foil for 1 hour then basted with sauce, the turkey came out beautifully, moist and tender, but the flavour of smoke was more delicate
