This is my go-to recipe for sloppy joes. My husband and I LOVE it. I usually don't use red bell pepper, just to save money. I also don't use as much beef because it's just two of us. I use just a little over half a pound, and I add minced mushrooms to make it a little healthier. We also add about 3/4 of an onion. Sometimes we use ground turkey. I love the flavor of the sauce! Also, we top them with crispy breaded fried onions for extra crunch. Our version of this recipe ends up being more veggies than meat, but my husband doesn't notice, and otherwise he wouldn't eat veggies lol!

This is a great recipe. I added about 1/2 cup of chopped onion, which didn't interfere with the peppers. Very easy, we loved it! Will make it again when the grandkids come for dinner.
