I loved this recipe. Based on the other reviews, I opted to use Chourico (a spicy Portuguese sausage instead of Chorizo because I knew how to properly prepare it. I also opted out of the tomatoes and added sliced mushrooms instead. The fried onions add a great crunch. I would love to make this dish again but next time I will use add some kick with spicy smoked gouda cheese.

This recipe was a twist to regular macaroni and cheese, but I agree with the other reviewer that they didn't specify what type of chorizo. I saw after the fact that the Neely's had dry uncooked chorizo as opposed to what I had, which was cured chorizo. The video doesn't show the chorizo being cooked. It was good besides the lack of specification.

This was so easy! I just used some spicy pork sausage and 1% milk. I also just diced up 1/2 a large tomato and added some diced zucchini as well. The crunchy onions on top really added something special. But i thought the cheese sauce itself was lacking a little in flavor. Next time i may add a little something extra.

This recipe is ridiculously amazing!!! When it was finished baking, I tried a tiny bite off one side and practically had to restrain myself in order to avoid eating more! I made this with skim milk and low fat cheese in order to make it a bit healthier, and it is still so unbelievably rich and delicious. The pepper jack is a nice alternative to the typical mac and cheese cheeses, at it adds a different flavor and a bit of heat. The fried onions on top are such a tasty alternative to the typical breadcrumbs. The tomatoes also add a nice sweetness (I used a mixture of cherry and grape tomatoes, yellow and red. You must make this!!!

Thought it was good but just not outstanding. Definitely tasty. Very different from most mac and cheese recipes I tried, especially with the kind of pasta used and the cheese used (Monteray Jack!. I wasn't a huge fan of the chorizo sausage, ended up picking mine out of my macaroni on my plate. But it made it very different. As did the addition of cherry tomatoes. If you're looking for something very different from the standard mac and cheese, you got to try this one. Don't leave out those fried onions on top, they make a delicious crunchy topping.

This dish was amazing! My 7- year old daughter loved it as did my wife- great for all ages! A definite comfort food dish. Going to make for my holiday party- know it will be a hit! The only thing I will do differently next time I make it is add more chourico and make sure I have all the ingredients ready to add when making the cheese sauce bc you have to stir constantly.

Awesome!! My husband and I make this together and it's a family favorite! ALWAYS requested at Holiday meals. So unique and a different spin on mac n cheese --makes us seem so creative!
