I made this recipe a few times and tweaked it to my taste. I liked the bourbon, but it made the pie taste more like Derby Pie so I left it out the next time around, I used semi-sweet chocolate chips instead of milk chocolate to reduce the sweetness a little and finally reduced the pecans by 1/2 a cup....I like it to be a little more gooey : Sooooo yummy!!!

Absolutely devine. This is the perfect pie for beginners because it is easy and foolproof. The use of chocolate chips keeps the filling from being too rich. I paired it with Ina Garten's "perfect pie crust." Perfection!

Great recipe, and so easy to make!! Make sure to use a deep dish pie crust so it doesn't run over the crust. I cut out a little bit of the sugar, but other wise its a family favorite. Its one of the first pies to go every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

This recipe is absolutely fabulous! I get requests to make it for birthdays and of course the holidays. It goes so quickly I've begun making them in two's to keep up with the demand. This has become my "go to" dessert recipe when I aim to wow. Simply amazing!
