It was fairly bland. Needs something extra.

I LOVE this chicken. I will tell you to go heavy on the spices and add a little extra buttermilk. I cooked mine in my
flavor wave and it was fantastic.....

Chicken was tender and juicy, but I found it bland. I will make it again, but next time, I will double up on the spices.

My chicken legs were rather large, so I used three really big garlic cloves, marinated them overnight, took the advice of another reviewer and poured off the accumulated juices after about 25 minutes, returned them to the oven for another 10-12 minutes to let them get really browned and almost charred in spots (per Nigella. Was just trying out the recipe, but took them to an impromptu party, and they were a huge hit. I had to pull up the recipe on the internet and print it out for everybody! You can easily and inexpensively feed a crowd with this recipe.
Also tried the "Rocky Road Crunch Bars" from the same episode, and they were divine! I now have my DVR set to tape every "Nigella Express" show. Nigella Girl, you kitchen goddess, You do rock!!

Not much flavor. I did alter it...less salt and no syrup...but I can't imagine that these two alterations would have made any significant difference. It just tastes like chicken. There are better recipes out there.

It doesn't get any easier than this...super simple and delish! Definitely marnate overnight. I did not find it to be bland like some other reviewers mentioned ,but I eyed the herbs/spices so may have added a bit extra of everything. I am making this again for an outdoor Sheryl Crow concert Thursday night. It will make a great picnic.

At a recent party, a crowd in Silicon Valley, CA was given a lap top and asked to make Nigella;s buttermilk chicken. Even though the recipe stated chicken dark meat, the party folks bought whole chickens, cut each into pieces then followed recipe directions. For what this is worth...big chuncks of electronic big folks in Northern CA thought the end result was terrific. I realize this is personal but ...
