Saw this made on TV this morning - first Nigella recipe I've tried. Family loves it! I added dried cherries and it was a great addition. Will definitely make this again!

I saw Nigella make this on TV today and wanted to try it immediately. My husband is on a low carb diet and loves chocolate so I knew this would be perfect. I reduced the applesauce to make it as low carb as possible and used toasted pine nuts, almond slivers, walnuts and peanuts. I also increased the chocolate. It is an incredibly wonderful, low carb snack.

In our area we could not find peanuts so I sub sliced almonds instead. It was extremly easy and everyone loved it. Added a bit more coco and some pumpkin seeds. The whole family and all visitors can't stop snacking. I will never buy from the store again. I do make sure to mix ingredients very well and stir every 20 minutes while cooking.

I made this recipe for the first time and could not believe how easy and yummy it is. I made a few adjustments. Instead of peanuts, I used slivered almonds. I also eliminated the brown sugar and just used honey and agave nectar for sweetening. About ten minutes before it was done, I added dried cherries for some tart flavor. The overall result was just so yummy. My family really loved this and it smelled so good while it was baking. I plan to make this recipe again.

This was the first time I made granola and found this to be an easy and versatile recipe. I have peanut allergies in my family so I exchanged the peanuts with raw pumpkin seeds, and it turned out very good. I also didn't have brown rice syrup so I improvised with an agave/maple syrup mix and it worked great. This will definately be a go to recipe for me. Thanks Nigella for the great recipe!

I don't know what everyone is complaining about, this recipe is delish!
In little ol' New Zealand i couldn't find the rice syrups etc so i just used some golden syrup instead and it was nice and sweet. I also added in about 1/2 cup of chocolate chips just because i could and it worked really well.
I have always loved Nigella's recipes and stand by this one too, i'm just about to make another batch now and i think i'm going to throw in some craisins aswell for a bit of a fruity flavour and can disguise it as a 'healthy option' :

Also, you all should try the Chocolate Cherry Trifle, its so good it makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

so as not to break the bank buying new stuff i changed the following: walnut pieces instead of peanuts, peanut oil instead of sunflower, and maple syrup instead of rice syrup. i also halved the recipe since there is only 2 of us, doubled the cocoa, and used my french grey salt made fine by a quick crush in a mortar. lowered the temp to 300 and baked for barely 40 minutes. as a sweet and salty fan..YUM. If you are looking for a chunky super-sweet american style granola, this is NOT it...if you are a fan of european crumbly cereal/topping type, this is great. best granola i've tasted since getting back from iceland, i can revert to having granola and yogurt in the morning. will never buy granola again!

I made this before a long plane trip to bring with. I halved the recipe all except for the cocoa because of the reviews and baked it with a silpat on my baking pan. I kept a close eye on it so it wouldn't burn and it was done in about an hour. My friend thought it was fantastic and couldn't stop eating it. I thought the chocolate flavor was still very mild, even at twice the amount of cocoa. It was more like cereal than granola as other reviewers have noted, but it was good granola.
