I agree w/the other reviewers that claim that these taste more like muffins than they do cupcakes. Despite my processing them as little as I could, the end product still came out a bit coarse.
They are tasty, but Nigella can do so much better.

Instead of frosting top it with butter crumb mixture. The best tasting crumb top coffee cake muffins!

These cupcakes where the best that I had ever made. The directions were easy to follow, but after my 3rd time making the cupcakes they would always rise and fall while in the oven. I don't know why It kept doing that but I'm sure it's not the recepy.

Love these!!! Most of the complaints sound like operator malfunction. They came out moist and tasty for me.

My 8 yr old daughter and I just made these together, and they are yumalicious!!! Very easy, very light, and the icing is just perfect...not to thick, not to sweet..just right...We even added some rose colored frosting coloring to make them pretty....we will definitely be making these alot!

I agree with the reviewer who wrote that these seem more muffins than cupcakes. While the taste is good, I think they rise too much. I wouldn't use the baking soda, probably.

This recipe is so good. The cupcake is light and fluffy. I don't have a food processor so i just used a hand mixer and they came out perfect! The icing was so good! I put more lemon juice then what it called for which made it better! On accident I left them out at night not in a container, and the next day the frosting hardened and it made the cupcake even better. One of Nigella's best recipes.

These were awful! The taste was weird, and even the color was weird. Easy and moist doesn't mean they taste great!
I'd rather put more time and effort into a recipe and get a better result.

I have been searching everywhere for the perfect recipe for a friend's wedding cupcakes, and I've found a winner. Even my boyfriend, who doesn't like cake, ate three of these! Based on the other reviews, I shortened the baking time slightly (to 12 min, and I used a hand mixer instead of a food processor, but everything turned out wonderfully--fluffy, light, delicious.
