My boyfriend and I find normal potato mash (even with butter, cream, cheese or anything disgustingly bland. This recipe is the answer! The combination is so beautiful, and if you're too lazy to roast the sweet potato's I've tried boiling them in with the normal potato's and that worked too!
    Thankyou Nigella!

I have always loved sweet potatoes, so I knew this would be good. Combining white and sweet potatoes is such a simple idea, yet I've never seen it done before. It's terrific! Thanks again Nigella !

my daughter said it tasted like rotten oranges. I didnt think it was that bad, but why mess with mashed potatoes?

I usually just cube and roast a combination of white and sweet potatoes, so I was excited to try a mashed version. The finished version is quite delicious. The lack of cream and butter (replaced by the olive oilisn't missed, as the consistency is still velvety. The addition of white potatoes really does cut down on the sweetness of the sweet potatoes and the ground mace adds a lemony nutmeg taste. I loved this with the Beef Casserole and am curious to try this with roast chicken, as well.
