Ingredients
- 1/2 pound shrimp, minced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 scallions (white and green parts), minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons sherry
- Olive oil
Directions
Process or blend the shrimp with the garlic, scallions, salt, flour, sherry, and enough water to make a thick batter. Let stand, covered with plastic film, for 1 hour. Then fry, in drops of 1 heaping teaspoon, into the oil poured to a depth of 2 inches in a pan, for about 1 minute each side, or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

One of my all-time favorites! I've been making these since I first saw Nigella make them on her show in 2003!
So easy, so tasty - and all done in the food processor. That's a big win!

I must have done something wrong but cannot figure out what, as I followed this recipe exactly. It has to be one of the worst things I've ever tasted: ultra greasy, glutinous, like bad Chinese take away. Sorry Nigella, you usually don't disappoint but this was very, very bad.

Loved this. It was super easy and very very tasty. We make crab cakes all the time but this was completely different and a nice change from the usual. I'll be making these again for sure!
