Reminds me of "Cornish Pasties". Delectable. Use prepared dough when hetic finding Time. Please Nigella, write a cookery book with Granny Lawson's Recipes, Your Mum's and Others that Inspired You to then Inspire Our Families to Look,Ask and Write these Delicious Recipes Down, like this One. This was great!! I made a few alterations, used ground turkey, kalamata olives, chopped garlic and simply chopped up fresh tomatoes. I cheated and made it once with boughten pie crust, turned out super, and bit of a time saver. My husband (who's mum is from Oxford said it reminded him of ones he'd had in England years ago. To me that is a success as I am trying to cook more "English". Thanks Nigella.

This meat pie is so delicious that I
came across a can of black beans in
the cubbard and had to search for this
recipe on line. I got the recipe 6 years ago when Nigella was on a different cooking show on cable. This recipe is one that will be made many many times and given to my children to serve my Grandchildren someday. Thank Nigella. Love Theresa Bugajny, Roselle, IL

Great recipe, my family was impressed! The only recommendation I have is that you double the pastry recipe because I had enough filling for two pies! Also, it wouldn't hurt to add a little bit more than a pinch of allspice.

This was a very good recipe. The crust was superb and the filling was great too. I skipped the eggs because my kids don't like them.
Granny would be proud of this pie.

Well, I saw this recipe on t.v. and it looked good. When I read the one review listed, it was a five star. I agree and so does my family. At dinner we rate new meals that I try from a 1-10. Everyone gave this meal a 10! Instead of making the homemade doe, I bought refigerated dough already to go at the grocery store and it worked. This meal is a must try. Great going Nigella!
