Oh. My. Gawd. This is SO GOOD. I left the chile out of the rice so it would balance out the chicken a little bit, and my husband and I just scarfed down a "taste" (a bowl. It is sooo good. It is now in my recipe box, and will be repeated. Nigella, you've outdone yourself. Freakin' awesome tasty. YUMMO!!

Very flavorful dish! Fairly easy to make, and while not crunchy, the chicken was delicious!

This recipe is GREAT!! Definitely more of a liquid than paste and I had to cook the rice for about 30 minutes longer than stated. Smells and tastes amazing! Also very easy to make.

This falls somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. I've made it twice as I have Nigella's cookbook which I love; tonight's chicken seemed easier the second time around. I've used chicken legs and white meat, all good; but the 'paste' is more liquid than paste, so I'd cut back on liquid portion of recipe. If you are expecting this to rival a true jerk meal, it might fall short, altho' it's tasty and spicy. The spices as it cooks fills the house w/great smells, and yet, there might be other jerk recipes out there just as good or better. But this one IS very easy to do. So there you have it, smells glorious, easy to make, tastes good...I think with the skin on it might be even better b/c the high heat would crisp it up more, but then again, I'm on a diet--just an idea.

The spicy paste was more liquid than expected but, boy, was this good! It put together quickly, and smelled great. I'll make the chicken and rice again!
