I made this Ginger-Jam Bread and Butter Pudding because I wanted to try a different dessert. It is comforting with the surprise of ginger bits. Eager to try a different version.

Never having had a bread pudding before this seemed very easy. I managed it and it was delicious. Obviously had to make subsitutions since ginger jam isn't common here. I ended up using orange marmalade instead and was very pleased. The top was beautiful with the sugar and fruit and crispy. Particularly nice as it wasn't too sweet.

I grew up on bread pudding, but had never had 'jam' bread pudding. I could not find ginger jam, but used apricot instead. This is so warm and comforting.

I tried this recipe today- a good, quick pudding. I didn't have any ginger jam, so I used the only thing I had- fig preserves. That was fine - but I think next time I would add a little more sugar, maybe vanilla, too. And we put powdered sugar on top. We like things sweeter. I would definitely cook this again with little variations to make it my own.
