Really quite delicious. I could hardly stop eating it! Very easy too. Quite elegant (for a bean dip with the lime zest. Almost sweet flavor because of the cinnamon. I added a pinch of crushed red pepper for a bit of heat.

I made this alongside Badenjan dip too & it's just as wonderful. I like the way the nutty, earthy, and citrusy flavors combined together & yet managed to be creamy at the same time. It works wonders on your taste buds.

    It's another thumbs-up, Nigella. THANKS!

This is a wonderful dip blending earthy spices with bright lime. The lime is very important in this dip as well as the slow cooked golden brown onions. Make sure the onions become nicely sweetened. I mixed in the garlic to the onions a little after the onions got some color so they would not become to dark or bitter. Slow cooking them is key. Being Middle Eastern this dip is definetly my favorite flavors in one! Nigella is the best~

I made this alongside the badenjan dip, and this dip was excellent. The lime is wonderfully sharp against the kidney beans. The dip is creamy and tangy, and great with pita chips and crudite. And it was very simple to make.
