People, if you say you "followed the recipe exactly" and then use the word except....

I did follow the recipe and the instructions as closely as possible.
I did not buy super fine sugar. I used granulated sugar that I had run through the food processor for about 2 minutes and instead of 1 tablespoon of real vanilla I used 2 tablespoons of artificial vanilla.
They were wonderful and did not last.

These were the best brownies I have ever tasted. So rich, deep, and dense with chocolate. My guests loved them and I will be making them again! Just a note, I used regular granulated sugar and they turned out just fine. I love Nigella!

I made these last night and they turned out horrible. I followed the directions exactly. The only thing I changed is that I cooked them for 10 minutes longer because when I checked them at 25 minutes they didn't look cooked at all. I was so disappointed. I was so looking forward to having these. The texture was not good at all, kind of dry and not a really good taste. My husband will usually eat anything but even he took one bite and didn't like them. I did think while making them that the directions were a little odd for brownies and when they were cooking I noticed that they were bubbling which I though was a little weird. I have never seen brownies bubble when they are cooking. Maybe I should have taken them out at 25 minutes? I definitely will not be trying these again though.

I have never had better brownies in my life - store-bought or homemade. My recommendation to those of you who had trouble with the setting is to get an internal thermometer (one that just sits on the rack for your oven to make sure your oven is actually getting to 350 degrees. The thermometer has changed my life - everything comes out better when you know your oven is behaving properly.

I was so excited to make these after last nights show, made a special trip for ingredients, spent a fortune, and i was so disapointed so were my guest. After 45min in a 350* oven and 30 min cool down we had a gooey pool of very exspensive choc. with crunchy edges. With today's grocery prices i only do this on special occasions.( I wanted to cry I even bought a new11-1/4x9x2 pan. Nigella made it and they looked wonderful, something went VERY WRONG are you sure about the cooking time and temp.???????????????

The first time I made these brownies, they were a total disaster. They would NOT cook. I had to throw away the entire thing. It nearly brought me to tears because I really wanted these and I wasted all those beautiful ingredients.

Then, I halved the recipe, made it in a smaller dish and they came out perfect. They are the most chocolate-y, gooey brownies I have ever had. They were gone in 2 days.

In hindsight, I discovered I used the wrong setting on the oven. Not used to using a convection oven. I am certain this is why my first batch were a total failure. Important note for this recipe, know your oven very well or else they may not bake.

I used Ghirardelli semisweet chocolate and white chocolate chips and the flavor came out sensational! I also added in toasted walnuts to give them some texture. Next time, I will use 4 eggs (or egg-substitute equivalent instead of 6 to give them that fudgy consistency...

saw the show and since i am a chocolate lover i just had to try it. It was a hit with all the friends and family. It goes a long way because all you need is a small piece to satisfy the choco craving.

I think that the brownies she made were the greatest. I love watching
