This recipe is amazing!! I use crasins instead of cranberries. They never last at my house. I'm going to try shaping into a roll and freezing this time and just cutting off a few for after a meal to see if we can make them last longer. Someone else mentioned dipping them in white chocolate, and I'm going to try that too.

I make a healthy and nutritious version of these cookies that is absolutely delicious! I use fat free vanilla (or plain yogurt instead of butter, sugar substitutes for the white and brown sugar, stone ground whole wheat flour instead of white, no cardamom, and for dried fruit my favorite combination is half blueberry flavored dried cranberries and half raisins. I only bake for 8-9 minutes. YUM :

This recipe is the base to my perfect cookies that everyone loves. All I added was some chocolate chips, subtracted the cardamom and exchanged the vanilla extract for almond extract. Try it and will be addicted just like everyone else. P.s if you want to take away the guilt of eating so many use whole wheat flour for half of the flour. I think they taste even better! You get the best of both worlds. Healthy and delicious!

This is the first time I have made homemade cookies frm scratch and I must say, they are the best I have ever had! I made this recipe twice last week! I did tweak it a bit. I did not use cardamon and I added 3 quarter cup white chocolate chips in addition to the dried cranberries. Yum! Loved it! Will be making these again. Note: I leave them in 10 minutes exactly. So good

These cookies are amazing!!! The cardimom is that secret ingredient that puts these over the top. I did dip mine in melted white chocolate to decorate them for a Christmas party.

This recipe has become my staple oatmeal cookie (unless I'm using chocolate chips. The spice mix on this is awesome! If you don't have cardamom, you can try pumpkin pie spice mix, allspice, ginger or even just more cinnamon or nutmeg based on your tastes. The recipe is worth five stars as written, but I'll go ahead and provide some variations that I've done. I've used cherries. I've used raisins. Sometimes I reduce the oatmeal and increase the flour a bit (I usually increase the flour by about 1/3 of the oatmeal that I cut. My favorite variation is 2 cups oatmeal, add 1/4-1/3 cup flour, use cranberries, and add about 1 cup of white chocolate chips.
