I used whole wheat flour instead of white, and I didn't use parchment paper -- they turned out awesome!!! i added 1 cup of white chocolate chips too.

I used to buy these great oatmeal cranberry cookies from the cafeteria at work (fresh baked, then they stopped selling them. I have tried to replicate them many times and after this recipe I realized what I have been missing--Cardamon. It makes these cookies truly heavenly.

I used a dried fruit mix of cherries, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries (1-1/2 c.I bought at Costco. I chopped them in my Cuisinart a bit. I mixed in a half bag of Ghiradelli white chocolate chips along with the 3 cups of oatmeal. I topped each cookie with 2 almonds. I had to bake these about 18 minutes though--not 13 minutes. I used a medium size cookie scoop and it made about 42 cookies.

Since the cardamon is so expensive and you only need a small amount you could buy it in bulk. I buy most of my dried spices in bulk and save a lot of money because I do not use them very often.

I love these cookies! The cardamon makes the differnce. I added chocolate chips, I love chocolate, and everyone at work devoured them. Thank-you:

I have been looking for a versatile oatmeal cookie recipe and here it is. They are so easy and so good and you can change it as easily as your mind. I made them with white chocolate chips and dried cranberries and left out the spices and they were yummy. I know they would be good with nuts and chocolate chips, too. I'm glad I found this recipe!!
