I love these! They are super easy to make, and I'm only 12.

I have made these too many times to count! My fiance and myself love them! I am actually making some more tomorrow to give to my fiance's uncle because he raves about it lol

These were great. I made a couple changes: instead of the brown rice cereal (couldn't find any I used Rice Crispy cereal, opted out of the peanuts and changed the figs to dried cranberries. Thanks for the recipe!

These are amazing! I just made them last night, and well they are the best granola bars I have ever ate. Instead of the figs and almonds, I used raisins and almonds. They were easy to make and the best part... nothing processed. I will admit the first time making these is pretty pricey, but I have so much of the ingredients left over I can make a ton of granola bars. These are definitely a thumbs up! Not only did I like them, but my boyfriend who loves granola bars said I can make them anytime!!

These are really, really good! And so easy to make. The sugar content of these seems very high though, so next time I will try it without the brown sugar or syrup. I didn't use peanuts and put in dried berries. As others have said, you really can make this so many different ways.

I thought this was a wonderfully basic granola bar recipe. You have endless possibilities with the dry ingredients (I've substitued the wheat germ for milled flax seed. and the wet ingredients can be changed in countless ways as well. I've made them a few times now and each time I try something a little different and each time it's wonderful. The first time I used figs, cranberries, peanuts. The second time I used dried cherries, peanuts and 1 oz of semi-sweet baking chocolate, chopped. Also the second time around I added about 1/3 cup cocoa powder to the wet ingredients. Next I think I'm going to use almond butter instead of peanut butter and chopped almonds, coconut, apricots and maybe dried mangos. The possibilites are as limitless as your imagination and if that's a challenge for you, just think of your favorite granola bars and jump off from there.

I'm trying to make the change to all natural from processed foods, so I love this idea. I did not use the apricots or dried figs because I know my 7 year old would turn her nose up at them. I will probably add raisins to the next batch, though. Also, I couldn't find "crisp brown rice cereal", maybe I was at the wrong store?? I used Grape Nuts instead, not a full 2 cups but they turned out really well in the recipe. I personally thought the honey/syrup taste was overpowering-I'm not sure which of the two it was so next time I'll cut back on both. It may have been the maple syrup, because I had the pure organic kind. I'd rather taste more of the peanut butter, oats, and wheat germ, which is the only reason I gave this recipe 4 stars instead of 5. My daughter loved having homemade cereal bars in her lunchbox; this recipe will definitely be a staple in our house until she gets tired of them!

Mine didn't really crumble but I made them into small squares, not bars.
Also, I made sure to press it together really well with syran wrap.

    My modifications were:
    - Omitted oil
    - Used flaxseed instead of wheat germ
    - Used almond butter instead of peanut butter
-I used a smidge of butter instead of cooking spray
-I used gluten free rice crisps
    - I omitted the apricots and went 1 cup figs
    - I also added pumpkin spice, some raw cocoa powder, cloves
    - subbed peanuts with sliced almonds that I roasted first to make them crunchy and easy to break into pieces

Wow, these are awesome! I used all maple syrup instead of brown sugar, lots of cinnamon, cranberries and cashews. Can't wait to make these again!
