I made these exactly as the recipe stated, and I am hooked! They have incredible flavor and great nutrition with the wheat germ. I highly recommend these bars, and keep them in the fridge so they stick together better (can be a bit crumbly otherwise.

I followed the recipe omitting the dried fruit since I don't like it however it was very crumbly but tasted soooo yummy= The second time I made it I mixed all the dry ingredients in the food processor, pulsed it a few times. Then mixed the wet ingredients over the stove like the recipe says. Next I added the peanut butter mixture to the food processor with the dry stuff. Pulsed that a few times. Next I added 2 eggs to the whole thing and then baked it in the oven for about 15-20 minutes. They came out way less crumbly and actually stick together like a bar is supposed to! Very excited!!!

I love these and so did my boyfriend! The flavors are great together. I used dried mango instead of figs and I added chopped hazelnuts... very delicious!

These are very healthy tasting and yummy. I couldn't find brown rice cereal so I used Kashi "7 Whole Grain Puffs". I didn't have peanuts so I used chopped almonds. My boys stuff their pockets with these bars when they snowboard. Satisfying and tasty!

This is a great "granola" bar for both me and my 2 year old daughter for breakfast. I left out the peanuts & didn't have wheat germ so I used wheat bran instead. Turned out awesome...such good flavor. Thanks:

Other reviewers are right on about keeping these bars in the fridge so they stay together better. I used a little extra peanut butter than what the recipe called for and I could have used a bit more just so that the bars stuck together a little better.

I made some substitutions: 1: instead of the wheat germ, milled oats and rice cereal, I used slightly crushed cheerios and oatmeal, 2 cups each; 2: instead of the figs apricots, I used raisins; 3: instead of peanuts, used crushed almonds and sunflowers seeds.

I also accidently poured too much honey in the mix so I added a little extra salt (about one teaspoon instead odf the 1/2 to balance the flavor. This turned out great if you don't like your bars too sweet as it gave that sweet and salty flavor.

Overall great recipe and would definitely use it again.

These are delicious, though I have to admit they took me a while to make with the chopping of nuts (confession: I used a hammer over a towel! and dried fruit. A couple of changes and notes: I used 1/4 c. dried cranberries and 1/4 c. dried blueberries instead of the 1/2 c. apricots. I also had trouble figuring out what was meant by "crisp brown rice cereal," so I think what I used was more along the lines of "puffed brown rice cereal." I also switched the order and had the dry ingredients ready when the hot peanut butter sauce came off the stove, which may have helped the consistency. Make sure to press down hard with your parchment paper and cool it in the fridge to help it stick together!

Erica, you might try adding some Corn Syrup... That should make it stick together better..

Someone please help me!!! I love the way these taste but even with adding extra peanut butter and honey my bars would not hold together. After cooling they just fell apart into cereal again when I tried cutting them into bars. I have only made nergy bars before using egg as the binder and that worked so much better allowing the bar to hold its shape. Can anyone help me to make this recipe work so I am not making granola but an actual bar?

I substituted cranberries for the figs and it was great! Delicious healthy snack.
