These were awesome!! So moist... The frosting was great too. The only trouble I had was I kept filling my cups to much and they rose way over the top!!

For the person that had problems with them rising!! Did you use fresh Baking Powder?? Cause it can get old!!! Cause let me tell ya I had more than enough rise in these babies!!

For the person that didn't use cake flour!! Why would you sit here and give a bad review to a recipe that you didn't even follow correctly?? Like it's the recipes fault you can't follow direction!!!!

these cupcakes were excellent. I've been looking for a good cupcake recipe for a long time and finally found one that will be in the recipe box for a long time. The frosting was excellent and I think it makes the cupcake. Try it you wont regret it even better the next day

These are sooo good. Definitely Old-Fashioned, the cupcakes aren't particularly sweet, they just have a great flavor and texture. Because they aren't too sweet they are great with frosting, something I usually don't care for. In one batch we altered the frosting by replacing one cup of sugar with a cup of cocoa to make cocoa frosting, very tasty. The neighbors we're thrilled with them and took a few home. Great with Cheryl's hand-tinted sprinkles!

Since some cooked and others didn't, it sounds like you have troubles with your oven temperature. Invest in an OVEN THERMOMETER (not shouting there, just being specific. I had similar issues and discovered that the element in my oven did not heat evenly (though it appeared to and the temp varied accordingly. I got a thermometer (thank you Alton and measured with it in several places and discovered a spot where the element was not heating as much (and nowhere near what was set. The trouble with an older electric stove. Gas can have a similar problem, the store said, if the burner vents are obstructed with gunk (fire hazard, too. So check it out and see what your oven is doing.

This is the absolute best cupcake recipe I have ever made... HUGE hit with the foodies in my family and my class! Definitely being put at the front of my recipe box to be made over and over again!

These cupcakes are fantastic!! The batter itself tastes like vanilla icecream...I had to fight the kids to bake them! I will make these cupcakes again and again.

Wow - These are good. So tender and flavorful. Sure, there is a lot of butter but we don't eat them every day. We used fat free milk and we loved the results. Maybe the whole milk is even better. We followed directions and prep was a snap. We ate them without the frosting and we decided they didn't need it. But then we made the frosting, and that was good too.
